The bass swells at the start are influenced by Stuart Morrow (first New Model Army bass player) from No Rest For The Wicked. Along with Jake’s feedback meandering through it, I just can’t help thinking of the Sega Megadrive game Ecco The Dolphin… but, hey, I’m weird.
If you listen carefully towards the end of the third-quarter of this chaotic sprawler you can hear two vocal lines with Jake’s voice put through a mad dalek effect. If I remember rightly the lines are “The seas will boil and the earth will be dust”. I think (!?).
