Betray the Past… Infect the Future.
The first album recorded by Slab in 2007, at Hellfire Studios by Ajeet Gill and designed by Purdeep Singh. Released in 2008 by Meltdown Records.
’Credit is due for a debut that plays by it’s own relentlessly heavy rules.’ – Paul Travers, Kerrang!
‘An uncompromising debut album.. SLAB could be real contenders’ – Terrorizer (Bury My Dog appears on Fear Candy Vol. 50)
‘Cleverly composed and well performed.. SLAB play metal as metal is meant to be played..’ – Inner Ear
‘A sludgy riff laden timebomb waiting to explode upon us all.’ – DeathDoom Productions
Like this album a lot. Loads of different styles and influences are brought together stylishly. One of the best albums I have heard for ages, simple as that… If musical ability and song writing prowess alone sold albums this would be up near the top of the pile for a long time. Equally good live too. This album will feature prominently on my playlist for a while I think!! – Chop Music
’’Betray The Past…’ is Slab’s first album and a phenomenal album to boot. They seriously set themselves out as top of the pile with this album. There are shades of math rock, with alternative, grungey riffage and out and out metal here but nothing is contrived or cliché. Slab really do have a fucking great sound. Engaging, brutal and complex. Slab are kings of their field. Get on these guys, you won’t be disappointed.’ – Pete Stanley, The Plastic Ashtray
